The Samsung Galaxy Note is a 2 “tab phone” that uses a stylus S-Pen and touch input usual on a 5.5 inch screen. It follows the Samsung Galaxy S3 and uses almost the same internal hardware and the same software with minor modifications, however.
The BlackBerry Smartphone Z10 is a 4.3 inch touch and one of the first devices based on BlackBerry 10, the new BlackBerry operating system (formerly RIM). The display of the BlackBerry Z10 is smaller than its competitors, but it is still a decent size of 4.2 inches. It is an LCD screen with a resolution of 1280×768 pixels at 356 pixels per inch, which gives excellent sharpness and good clarity. Color depth also appears to be a strong point. The build quality is very impressive with textured rubber surfaces and plastic mats upscale. Processing power is adequate, although it is not as tough as the Galaxy Tab 2. The processor Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual core 1.5 GHz (with 2 GB RAM) is quite competent and the software is optimized. Performance is generally very good.
The most striking thing about the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is its size and scope of its huge billboard. This can be a positive or negative depending on how you look at it, but we will return later.
While such views have become more common (and higher resolution) the fact is that the Galaxy Note 2 still has one of the best smart phones screens for watching movies or playing games.
There is a Super AMOLED 5.5 inch display with a 1280×720 pixel resolution at 267ppi. Overall, it is clear, sharp, with excellent contrast, good brightness and color depth interesting.
Just like the Galaxy S3, it does not deliver visuals as sharp as LCD displays with the same configuration and can be difficult to reproduce a clear text.
Processing power and battery life are two areas where the Galaxy Tab 2 is impressive. It has a quad-core Exynos processor clocked at 1.6 GHz with 2 GB of RAM and a graphics processor Mali-400MP. Overall, it will support all Android tasks, all applications or all games. It will also run intensive multitasking. Entry with the S-Pen is also very good. The battery is 3100 mAh and apart from the Motorola Razr Maxx we have not yet met with such autonomy phone. The storage space is also generous with options of 16, 32 and 64 GB, plus support for microSD card up to 64GB.
Both phones are very impressive and both provide well optimized software with smooth performance with a decent display. BlackBerry Z10 has many more benefits if you are looking for a quality high-end construction or a device with a manageable size. The Galaxy Note 2 is distinguished by its impressive screen, and excellent multimedia experience. It also enjoys the benefits of the Android ecosystem.
